| WAPDA secured first position by winning National Ju-Jitsu Championship 2007, whereas, Punjab got second and Pakistan Police clinched third position. The championship was held in the Wapda sports complex Ferozepure Road Lahore. This championship was organized by Vattar Media. In the different weight categories in Fighting System. Men Category were 8 and women were five. Whereas, Duo system competition was held in three Categories as Men, Women and Mixed. Punjab clean swept all the title in Duo System and got Gold medals. Shabina Nawaz Janjua of Punjab managed to claim Three Golds individually by winning Duo of Women with Madiha Zaidi and Duo Mixed with Waheed uddin and in fighting -62 kg category. Shabina Nawaz was adjudged as the best player of the championship and she was awarded Rs. 5000/- monthly Scholarship by the Punjab sports Board on the spot as declared by the Secretary Sports Punjab, Syed Munawar Abbas. Who awarded medals to the winners in the Championship. Peaking on the occasion, the chief Guest Mr.Mubasher Lucman Minister for information, IT & C&W Government of Punjab assured all possible help of Government to the uplift of Ju-Jitsu sports in Pakistan. He also asked the Secretary Sports Punjab to ensure the procurement of training mats (Tatami) to the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF). He also praised Pakistani Players who are the current Asian Champion of Ju-Jitsu in Asia. Ju-Jitsu is the first Martial Arts in Pakistan who ever achieved Asian Champion title. None other Martial Art in Pakistan was able to get this honour for the country. |
